hello,
My name is Jim Roe. I am the grandson of Edgar Roe of the 284th. We lost grnandpa on 12/10/11, but i carry him with me by remembering his gentle demeaner. Old Glory flew over his house all of his years. He wouldn't say a lot about combat to me when i asked, unless grandma made him.:) As I got older I realized it's not something you speek of lightly, and began to understand his tight lip on the actual fighting. He would often say "It was a terrible mess". I have several pics of grandpa's. If you like, I could send some copies.

Thanks much,
Jim Roe

I would greatly appreciate any information I can receive about PFC Charles G. Lavicka. He is listed as wounded
in February, 1945 and died later on August 6, 1945. He
is buried in Camp Butler Cemetary in Springfield, IL
He was married to my mother, Florence.

I never knew anything about him and would like to learn more about him.

Thanks
